🥔 Why are Bonilla a la Vista chips different?
It was 1932 when Salvador Bonilla, a former navy corporal, started selling fried potatoes and churros at fairs across Galicia. As the story goes, whenever a ship came into view he'd call out his old sailor's phrase: "Cabo Bonilla a la vista" ("Bonilla to the lookout"). That's where the name comes from, and almost a century later, it's still on the tin.
That original recipe from Ferrol has barely changed: potato, olive oil and sea salt, with no colourings or preservatives. Three ingredients, zero shortcuts.
